AAPA Grows With Tiered Membership
AAPA had approved a tiered membership model but lacked the staff to roll it out, so Ricochet led a year-long implementation that hit its revenue goals.
What was holding AAPA back?
The American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) has more than 74,000 members. After careful research, AAPA concluded that membership tiers with different benefits and rates could increase revenue, and its leadership approved the change. There was a hitch. AAPA did not have the staff to handle everything the new model required across its systems and departments. It hired Ricochet to lead the work.
What did Ricochet do?
Ricochet led a year-long project to put the new membership model in place. This was a major overhaul. We coordinated a large team drawn from multiple departments. On the technical side, the work included changes to the association management system and the learning management system. On the financial side, the ledger had to be updated. We also covered member-facing pieces, including communications and customer care scripts.
What changed for AAPA's members?
AAPA members can now choose from membership tiers that offer different benefits at different rates, instead of a single offering. Because communications and customer care scripts were updated alongside the systems, members heard a consistent explanation of the new tiers when they reached out. AAPA launched the tiers successfully and hit its revenue goals with precision.
